    Theatre visit to the National Theatre, London to see Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard starring Zoë Wanamaker and Kenneth Cranham. 
    Fee includes good stalls ticket, off peak rail-fare from Manchester or Stockport, group travel arrangements, tour manager and optional restaurant dinner reservation (£75 or £65 with Railcard ).

    Museum visit to the British Museum to see Afghanistan: Cross Roads of the Ancient World (Please note Dr. Hoffman’s study day on Friday,13th May 2011).
    Surviving treasures from the National Museum of Afghanistan (NMA) dating from 2000 BC to the 1st century AD are on show.  The exhibition includes precious objects bravely hidden in 1989 by officials from the NMA to save them from destruction including items from the Bactrian hoard.  At the heart of the Silk Road, Afghanistan linked the great trading routes of ancient Iran, Central Asia, India and China and the more distant cultures of Greece and Rome.
    Fee includes exhibition ticket, off peak rail-fare from Manchester or Stockport, group travel arrangements, tour manager and optional restaurant dinner reservation.  (£75 or £65 with Railcard)

    Monday 11th - Thursday 14th July 2011

    Cultural visit to Edinburgh.  Itinerary includes Dalmeny House (Queensferry), Palace of Holyroodhouse & The Queen’s Gallery exhibition (The Northern Renaissance: Dürer to Holbein), Gladstone’s Land (Royal Mile) and The Georgian House (Charlotte Square).

    Fee includes three nights in good central Edinburgh accommodation, tour manager, all exhibition and entry tickets (discount given for National Trust membership), guided tours of all properties and travel costs to Dalmeny House.  (Single accommodation £585 and shared room £435).
    Rail tickets can be arranged at the best on-line cost.
